Welcome to the very first 1980s.fm Thur's day. Thur's day began on SST by Albi. It takes place every Thursday and carried over to World of Warcraft and other places on the world wide web. It's just fun. No one has to participate, obviously. There are no rules cause I just make it up as I go. Sometimes there is a theme, sometimes there is not.
I thought I would kick off tomorrow with Hair Bands - Def Leppard does not count, but that's a whole long story that dates back about 40ish years.

My younger brother owned 3 albums. Hysteria was one. The others were Wizard of Oz and Glen Campbell. He played Def Leppard over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and you get the picture. I was never a big fan to start with, but that sealed the deal.
Funny store - he took me to a baseball game a couple of weeks ago. On the way home he held me hostage and blasted Def Leppard. I told mom

That happened to me....playing it over and over and over and over......but that was ME doing that to myself. And it only made me love the album even more.....or maybe it was a sort of brain washing/clockwork orange type of thing. Anyway, the tape wore out and then I bought the CD.
As long as you promise to never play Michael Bolton, I will do my best to avoid requesting Def Leppard in your presence.
