Hello everyone. My name is Shane and I'm from Long Island, New York. I'm 32 years old and I'm a HUGE 80s music fan. I absolutely HATE the music that is forced out in mainstream media the last decade. I just feel like most of today's mainstream music is flat, bland, has no depth, and lacks the talent of that of 80s music and prior. Whenever I listen to 80s music I always feel so refreshed.
I found 1980s.fm through the iTunes Radio a few weeks ago and finally visited the site itself for the first time just yesterday. This is an incredible site full of features and the best part, community. I love the fact that there is a great close knit community here. I look forward to checking in a contributing any way I can.

Hello Shane! I share your enthusiasm for 80s music. It's not that I hate today's music, it's just that I'm still stuck in the 80s
Welcome to the site/station! You will find me spending much more time feeding the Queue than I do posting in the Forums. Perhaps I should do a better job balancing that out...

You will see me more once I get back to work. Currently I'm on maternity leave and my little one doesn't let me get on as much as I would like these days. But I will be around.

I like various genres of music and the 80s decade was very nice, with all those different styles, most of them you can find it back here on 1980s.FM
